Tokyo Doll Show 26 Part 1

Today I was able to make it to a Tokyo convention for once. Usually, it is like a curse, and I am always underway whenever a convention comes up. Thankfully, it is one of the best ones I could have been in Japan for.

Doll Show 26 was a convention in which doll owners show off their girls and showcase their skills at dress design/hair care/and accessorizing. As they said in Rozen Maiden, a doll’s beauty is brought out through their care and presentation. As you will tell from this huge multipage update, these owners love their dolls like their own kids. In fact, on Dannychoo, you will hear many people referring to their dolls affectionately as “daughters”.

Before I begin this very lengthy update, I would like to say a bit about my policy on these pictures. I respectfully ask that if you choose to post these images on your websites, please put a link on that article crediting me for my photography work. There are no watermarks on my images because I think they are obnoxious and distracting. Thank you.

Nanoha Full Shot 1

First up we have my favorite dolls of the show. Loli Nanoha and Fate Dollfie Dreams. I had to restrain myself from making fanboy sounds. It is no mystery that I am very much a Nanoha A’s fan, second to maybe DC member Actar only.

Fate Full Shot

These are probably customs because I have not heard anything about loli Nanoha and Fate Dollfie Dreams. They look so good though that they could be official.

Fate Dollfie Dream Back

See how nicely combed Fate’s hair is. Combing your doll’s hair is very important in their presentation. Even if you feel a bit like a girl doing so. XD

Loli Nanoha Face

A perfect loli face for Nanoha. She looks so young and cute but most importantly, her head is proportioned to her body unlike many of the Mini-Dollfie Dreams.

Loli Fate Face

Loli Fate Face 2

Faito-chan! Fate’s face is also well proportioned and young looking. Volks needs to make these.

Speaking of Volks, most of the dolls you will see in my Doll Show articles are manufactured by Volks. They are very expensive, limited dolls that appeal to both males and females; especially those into anime and eroge. The popularity of these Dollfie Dreams as gone through the roof due to their constant coverage on Dannychoo.com. This is a good thing. Like Touhou, I got into Dollfie Dreams before everyone knew about it. Now, that they are more popular, I get to see lots of pics that I would be hard pressed to find on English language websites.

Taiga Dollfie Dream Full Shot

This is an extremely cute Taiga Dollfie Dream from the anime Toradora. Not everyone likes Taiga but she ended up being my favorite character even with her sometimes abusive personality.

Taiga Dollfie Dream Close Face

Cute!! Another of Taiga.

The Japanese love cute things, even many men. At the Doll Show I would say there were exactly 50/50 percent males/females. I saw lots of grown men combing their dolls hair and making them look pretty. But you know what, this was completely normal to me. Some guys just like cute things…including me.

Cute Girl with Pink Hair

Moving along, here’s a cute Dollfie Dream with pink hair. Reminds me of Steel Angel Kurumi but I’m not sure if that’s who this is supposed to be?

Clan Clan

Klan Klan reporting for duty. She is in her loli form as seen in the anime Macross Frontier.

Sasara and Maryan

Dollfie Dream Sasara and Maryan. I read their story in English on Wolfheinrich’s blog. You can find his site on my friends list on the right.

Ultimate Dollfie Pantsu Shot

This is the ultimate Dollfie pantsu shot. A shot to end all other shots.

I also should note that all Dollfie Dreams are anatomically correct. Yup. ^,^

Cardcaptors Sakura Dollfie Dream

Hope your not diabetic because this Dollfie Dream is that sweet. This is of Sakura from Cardcaptors Sakura. Like loli Nanoha and Fate, her face is young and head proportioned.

Card Captors Sakura Face

Awe!! Sakura is so cute! :3

Tomoyo Cardcaptors Dollfie Dream

Such beautiful blue eyes! I think this might be Tomoyo from Cardcaptors Sakura but I could be wrong.

Full Sized Tomoyo Dollfie Dream

Her skin is so pale. Just like in the show. Yup, I did watch some Card Captors back in the day even though it’s supposed to be for girls. Everything was watchable except I didn’t like the movie where they went to Hong Kong. Kind of boring.

Suiginto Super Dollfie Dream

A custom Suiginto Super Dollfie Dream. A Super Dollfie Dream is done in a non-anime realistic style. They are not everyone’s cup of tea. In fact, sometimes they scare people….me included.

Suiginto Scary Eyes

It’s their eyes that freak me out on Super Dollfie Dreams. I wouldn’t want to be left alone in the house with this doll.

Dollfie Dream Natsuki

Dollfie Dream Natsuki was just barely released and was a popular sight in the doll show.

Louise

This is Louise from a show I have not seen yet. Reminds me of the Harry Potter girl. ^^;

Nanoha StrikerS Dollfie Dream

Was good to see Nanoha again. This is here adult version and she awaits my coming home (briefly) in January. Notice the blue in her eyes? Alot of photographers don’t use enough lighting and poor Nanoha will look like she has black eyes. They really are a nice shade of blue.

Suiginto Super Dollfie Dream

Suiginto was actually pretty prominent at the doll show. Surprising because she generally will go for over 400,000 yen in Mandarake. Only seen her twice in my two years here. Both times she sold. Guess some folks have the money. I don’t. :p

Haruhi Packing Heat

Haruhi just came back from a Halloween party and is now packing heat. Hope Kyon didn’t make her angry? Maybe she just wants Mikuru to hold it for a bit?

Nemu Dollfie Dream

This cute girl is Nemu Asakura from Da Capo. I almost bought her today in fact, but I was broke from my frantic traveling this week. ^^;
Saber Nyan
That’s all for part 1, nyan. :3

Think I might have to break this coverage into 3 sections at a minimum. Will be worth it though.

Nice coverage! How I wish I could be in this Doll Show! Young Nanoha and Fate are indeed done very well! CC Sakura as well! LOL at Maryan sempai! Though it would have been even more awesome if they pose her with the rider kick form lol! Natsuki <3, but I guess I will have to wait until next year before I see her ~.~

Good coverage, looking forward to the next part.

I’m sorry chaly. I’m afraid I lack the knowledge to make Sakura’s face smooth from the supplies you mention. Especially as smooth as the one you see in this article.

I’m not sure what your art class instructions are but I would personally have better luck making a stuffed Sakura doll as opposed to a paper machia one.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
